Duties and Responsibilities | Duties are listed in order of greatest importance. Other responsibilities may be assigned. | | | % TIME | • | Eligibility Certification • Collaborate with participating campus officers to facilitate, document and monitor the certification of initial-eligibility for all varsity student-athletes. • Coordinate, document and monitor the certification of eligibility for all student-athletes. • Work closely with the Registrar’s office when certifying all eligibility • Coordinate and manage the collection of all documentation required to certify the continuing eligibility of all varsity student-athletes. • Complete and ensure the continuing accuracy of NCAA Squad Lists and Big Ten Certified Eligibility Lists. • Evaluate, update and operate the system and procedures utilized to certify the eligibility of varsity student-athletes. • Communicate eligibly status of varsity student-athletes to appropriate coaches and administrative staff. • Collaborate with campus in the review and submission of NCAA reports (APR/GSR) | 50% | • | Rules Elgibility and Interpretations - Assigned Sports • Develop and conduct comprehensive rules education program for multiple constituencies, including but not limited to, coaches, student-athletes, faculty, staff and boosters on all NCAA, Big Ten Conference and University rules. • Provide specific sport(s) with NCAA and Big Ten Conference rule interpretations. • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference and institutional rules by participating in on-going educational opportunities that relate to this position. • Serve as compliance liaison to specific sports • Collect, review, and audit playing and practice season declarations and sort schedules for compliance with NCAA and institutional rules • Research, prepare and file NCAA and Big Ten waiver and self-reports • Monitor coaching staff limrts and coordinate certification to recruit | 50% | | | | | |

Possess demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules. | Specialty Factors: | | Preferred Qualifications: | Master’s degree Possess a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules, excellent communication skills, the ability and desire to perform accurate detail-oriented work and computer proficiency Previous employment experience at an NCAA member institution, with eligibility certification and/or advising | | | | |
