Create opportunities through events and engagement to build the Fighting Illini fan base. Develop and implement a comprehensive game presentation strategy that enhances fan experience. | | | | | | | | |
Duties and Responsibilities | Duties are listed in order of greatest importance. Other responsibilities may be assigned. | | | % TIME | • | Strategic Marketing & Advertising: • Serve as day-to-day marketing and fan engagement contact with three sports at the University of Illinois including, one of which is a ticketed sport • Facilitate advertising and messaging strategy for sales of tickets and attendance growth • Assist with the digital advertising strategy and execution for each sport including email marketing, marketing automation, mass texting, and mobile application • Work with assigned sport staff and external team members to develop comprehensive external plans to maximize revenue generation and attendance • Work with external team on marketing and gameday presentation for Football | 50% | • | Fan Engagement: • Serve as the day-to-day fan engagement manager for one fall, one winter, and one spring athletic team, including but not limited to gameday promotions, script creation and game presentation • Assist with the promotional planning and execution for home events, including giveaways, themed nights, student initiatives, kids club, and sponsor activations • Collaborate with student section leaders to increase and maintain high levels of student involvement and attendance • Support student and community outreach efforts through event planning and participation | 30% | • | Strategic Leadership: • Oversee the hiring, scheduling, and mentoring of all student workers and volunteers • Maintain payroll portal for marketing interns • Manage the Protection of Minors form | 20% | | | | | |

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field. 2. Three (3) years (36 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area. 3. Demonstrated experience in a higher education or professional athletic environment. 4. Demonstrated experience in game presentation and/or fan engagement | Preferred Qualifications: | Four (4)+ years of relevant experience in fan experience/game presentation, marketing, promotions, revenue generation/sales preferred. Experience working with variety of gameday stakeholders including music operators, band, spirit teams, performers, pyrotechnics, lights , sponsorship activations and more. Experience with project management and execution in the creation of traditional and paid advertising campaigns. Experience with Oracle Eloqua email marketing platform. | | | | |
