Support the effective use of departmental financial resources related to the finance functions of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) and State Farm Center (SFC), with the goal of efficient and value-added business operations processes, and effective interaction with all levels of DIA and the University of Illinois. | | | | | | | | |
Duties and Responsibilities | Duties are listed in order of greatest importance. Other responsibilities may be assigned. | | | % TIME | • | Philanthropic Communication & Engagement • Collaborate with Major Gift Officers to ensure the impact of gifts solicited and received are maximized. • Enhance donor engagement by ensuring appropriate benefits are fulfilled through the collaborative efforts of the development team. • Provide donors with updates on the status of their gifts, acknowledgments, and tangible impact of their contributions. • Develop and maintain comprehensive donor stewardship materials, including financial reports, thank you letters, and engagement summaries that effectively communicate the value of donor contributions. • Address donor inquires and resolves issues related to financial contributions, receipts, and benefit administration. • Educate Major Gift Officers on how donor contributions impact the overall DIA financial structure, including day-to-day financial operations and capital projects. | 50% | • | Financial Monitoring and Gift Administration • Prepare financial settlements for various internal DIA events. • Prepare and submit year-end accrual information to University Accounting and Financial Reporting (UAFR). • Prepare and analyze internal financial reports for State Farm Center operations. • Process daily credit card transactions for various revenue generating units within the DIA. • Reconcile credit card activity, processing disputed transactions as needed. • Monitor receivables for major gifts, annual fund, premium seating, and recurring/unique contributions. • Work with University of Illinois Foundation (UIF) to pursue past due balances. • Serve as point for tracking and authorization of benefits associated with various giving levels. • Assist as needed with matching gift programs, serving as liaison with companies to assist with giving. • Coordinate the processing, recognition, and utilization of the DIA Gift In Kind program. | 40% | • | Administration • Serve as liaison between DIA and UIF as needed. • Assist with integration of donor information between DIA and UIF systems. • Assist with internal and external audits as needed. • Other duties as assigned. | 10% | | | | | |

Two years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience. | Specialty Factors: | | Preferred Qualifications: | Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or athletics-related field. Five years of business work experience within intercollegiate athletics. Familiarity with Banner, Paciolan, and TED/Blackbaud software. | | | | |
